Home Page

The home page is designed to be the central control of the site with most indexing and reference points being accessible from the center window. The home page is broken down into 3 sections:

  • Main Menu – The main menu down the left side allows you to gain access to all the main functions of the site
  • Control Window – The control window provides most of the indexing for the site functionality
  • Today's Racing – Will display a list of all TAB greyhound meetings in Australia for the current day. Activated form-guide states for this website will have links directly to the form-guide of each respective meeting. NB: The start time of each race meeting is also shown.

On all pages within the website, click on The Watchdog title image and you will always be returned to the homepage of this site.

Basic Fields is a quick reference form-guide that displays all race-fields on the screen in a web display format. This screen is NOT designed for printing (refer to 'The Whisper' PDF form-guide for a printable version of this guide). The main menu is controlled by State, where active states will be available. When selecting the state, an index will be displayed in the main Control Panel showing all 'available' meetings. This means the meetings that have been box-drawn and released to the public. Basic Fields will be available as soon as the official fields are released.

The data in this display will be refreshed on a daily basis.

The Basic Fields index panel will also provide users with the ability to search for a greyhound in any upcoming race meeting

The Form-Guides section is the main service provided by this website. The Watchdog produces a series of form-guides to cater for all levels of greyhound enthusiasts from beginners to advanced. Like Basic Fields, the main menu is driven by state and active states will be available. When selecting the state, an index will be displayed in the main Control Panel showing all 'available' meetings. This means the meetings that have been box-drawn and released to the public.

On selecting an appropriate race meeting, a series of guide types will also be available. These guide types are outlined below:

Form Guide Description
The Browser (HTML) This is the on-line version and combines The Runaway Train and The Brainstormer into an on-screen display. The +/- symbols on the left side of the form-guide will allow you to expand and collapse each greyhound (to view its racing form).
At the bottom of the display, the TABCORP website allows you to access your betting account while having the greyhound form-guide at your fingertips.
Available video clips may also be viewed from within this electronic guide.
The Whisper (PDF) The Whisper is a 1-page print guide that shows all races for a race meeting
The Snapshot (PDF) The Snapshot is a beginners version that provides pictures to help represent the chances within each race. 1-page document
The Runaway Train (PDF) The Runaway Train provides a 3-page overview of the fields with The Watchdog's expert analysis.
The Brainstormer (PDF) The Brainstormer is our standard form guide. This is a 1-race per page printable guide showing the last 4-starts of each greyhound
The Rocket Scientist (PDF) The Rocket Scientist is the advanced guide. This guide is over 30 pages and provides in depth information including the last 10-starts for each greyhound + the last 3-wins.
The Fast Track The Fast Track is not available on this website but is the brand name given to the on-course race-book. When you arrive on-course you can purchase this race-book. The layout follows a similar design to The Brainstormer.

The data in these guides will be refreshed on a daily basis.

The Form-Guides index panel will also provide users with the ability to search for a greyhound in any upcoming race meeting. On selection of a greyhound from the search function you will be taken directly to 'The Browser' form-guide at the race your selected greyhound is in.

Videos are provided for all race meetings that have been successfully captured. The main index will display race meetings for the previous 2-weeks of race meetings. If the capturing of video's has not worked successfully, the index will not show these races.

Video replays are also available through The Browser form-guide. Next to the previous 4 starts of a greyhound in The Browser guide, a small video symbol will provide a link to the video replay, if the video is available.

Video replays cannot be downloaded.
